Regents Scholars' Society

President

Dana Howells

Hi there, I'm Dana. Last year I was the Secretary of RSS and had a great time getting to know new people and participate in new activities, so this year I am excited to serve on the executive council again. This will be my third year at UC Davis. I'm from San Diego, and although it means leaving one of the best cities on earth I absolutely love it up here. I am an Animal Science major (and a Comparative Literature minor), and right now I am thinking about applying to either vet or dental school. Hope to see you at some of our activities!

Vice President

Julie Robinson

A former ISer and northern California native, I'm a third year math major here at Davis. As the vice president of RSS, I am looking forward to assisting our president, Dana, and to working with liasons from other UCs to establish a statedwide Regents Scholar organization that will work to benefit Regents Scholars statedwide and help to draw high achieving students into the UC system. In addition to serving on the executive board for RSS, I the assistant new member director in Chi Omega, a member of the Lounge Lizards acapella group, and a newly initiated member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. When I'm not either studying or participating in something related to the afore mentioned groups, I enjoy running, hanging out with my friends, and listening to country music. After I graduate from Davis, I hope to go on to medical school.

Treasurer

Laura Jenkins

Laura, a native of Palo Alto, California and the treasurer of the Regent's Scholar Society, is a third year student at UC Davis. She is currently a double major in English and History, but is seriously considering switching to International Relations with possible minors in History, English, and Music. She enjoys playing the piano and the flute in her spare time, and is also involved in Sanctuary Covenant Church in Sacramento. Most importantly, she will seize any and every opportunity to go skiing or to partake of other similar fun and exhilarating activities.

Megan Harns

Howdy, I'm Megan, a fourth year Environmental Biology major with a special interest in wetlands ecology. I work for the Public Service Research Program on campus to design, implement and promote science education and outreach programs for local youth. (Insert shameless plug for my program here. Contact me to be an intern in an awesome program!) My hobbies? Reading, patio and water gardening, and playing Halo. I'm Co-Historian because I like scrap booking and web design. I hope to capture the spirit and sociability of the RSS as we start our road to greatness, on paper and on-line!

Fundraiser

Trevor Peterson

I'm a third year Genetics student. I like camping, backpacking, hunting, fishing, long walks in the forrest, and blondes. I am originally from Clovis CA, where I grew up in the country, so yes I am a hick of sorts. Anyway to wrap it up, I like long walks with blondes.

Jennifer Moore, the service director for the Regent's Scholar Society, is a third year Human Development major. She is from Rodeo, CA, and hopes to go into social work. She is currently a resident advisor in Segundo and enjoys scrapbooking and reading.

Staff-Advisor

Michelle Neill Tange

I graduated from UC Davis in 1992 and then went on for my Master's at the University of Vermont. I worked for a while in Buffalo, NY and Chester, PA prior to coming back to UC Davis as an Assistant Director in Student Housing. I look forward to getting to know all of you and having a successful Regent's Scholar Society here at Davis.

Former President, 2002-2003

Tracy Cortichiato

Hi! I'm a 4th year senior completing a B.S. in Psychology. If Davis offered one, I'd be minoring in Dance. But, since they don't, I just take a lot of ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop classes instead! This year I will be performing in the Spring Dance Concert on campus. Yeah! I am also an officer in Prytanean, a member of Golden Key, Psi Chi, NCSC and a 4th year Davis Honors Challenge student.

Former Vice President, 2002-2003

Chris Kroner

How you doin'? I'm a fourth year going on five to finish my B.A.S. in Psychology and Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. I am originally from San Diego. Aside from RSS, I am a coordinator for Adventures in Science, an internship that brings college students to local middle schools to teach kids about science. I also love sports- especially playing them. I have been on four championship IM teams at UCD: three football and one softball. I also work on campus as a supervisor in the Cal Aggie Host program, providing security to the campus community. This summer I will be applying to medical schools (wish me luck!) so now you know my future goals!
