Dana Howells

Hi everyone! I'm a fourth year Genetics major (and Comparative Literature minor) from San
Diego, California. I've been involved with RSS for three years, since its conception on the UC
Davis campus. I'm excited to return to the executive board as President this year. Some of my
favorite RSS activites are intramural football, Trevor's random camping trips, and the annual UC-
wide CONFERENCE. I also love to jog, read, and watch the hit TV show _24_. If you enjoy any of
these activites, or have questions about RSS, contact me.

She is currently a double major in English and History, but is seriously considering switching to International Relations with possible minors in History, English, and Music. She enjoys playing the piano and the flute in her spare time, and is also involved in Sanctuary Covenant Church in Sacramento. Most importantly, she will seize any and every opportunity to go skiing or to partake of other similar fun and exhilarating activities.

2nd Year Biomedical Engineering Major
At heart I am a dreamer with more dreams than time will allow. I want to travel the world, run my own company, invent something (possibly Nanotech?) to help all of humanity. I'm very open-minded. I like learning new things and meeting new people. I play tennis, so come join me in a game and experience my notorious "butterfly" shot firsthand. What's my expertise you ask? Haha.I'll leave that up to your imagination.

Julie Robinson

Originally from Santa Rosa California, I'm in my fourth year here at Davis and plan to graduate in June of 2005 with a degree in mathematics. Although I am a math major, I am predental and am currently in the process of applying to dental school. In addition to being an active member of RSS since its induction in fall of 2002, I am a former Integrated Studies participant, a soprano singer in the UC Davis acapella group the Lounge Lizards, and the personnel chair for my sorority, Chi Omega. When I'm not participating in activities related to my sorority, acapella group, or planning the conference, I like to hang out with friends, listen to country music, or just have a good time.

Payam Mohassel

Hi there! I am a 4th year NPB major, originally from Shiraz, Iran (AKA Persia). My city is famous for its roses, poetry, and grapes (wine if you're in the right hands!) I am the Community Service Coordinator of RSS this year and enjoyed serving as the publicist last year. I like many things, but I have found something similar in the following: music, nature, science (especially neuroscience), literature, romance, philosophy, full moons, starry nights, walks with friends, and last but not least, mundane conversations; they not only excite me, but also help me transcend to the above and beyond. I have been told that I smile too much; I have yet to meet someone who is not worth smiling at. Anyways, I wish you (yes! you) a unique day.

2nd year Bio Sci (NPB emphasis)
Halloo everyone! So far, I've become a member of many groups on campus, including Intervarsity, College English Fellowship, Lounge Lizards A cappella, Pre-Dental Society, and, yes, RSS! Aside from chillaxing with friends, I love to sing, play piano, fold origami, knit/crochet, play tennis and ping-pong, watch movies, and get to know new people!

Matthew Lee

What's up y'all? The name is Matthew, Matthew "Cyclohexane" Lee. Others know me as DNA Pol, Muskaan, and well Matty and Matt. I am a second year currently majoring in Nutrition Science, and hopefully minoring in chemistry... and no, I don't have the best diet! I'm from Alameda (Bay Area in tha house!!!), a really small town very much like Davis, minus the university. Davis reminds me of home. I love the green pastures, the peaceful bovines, and the fresh air we breathe here in our little town of 60,308 people. But, even though I am somewhat far from home, I still miss it. But I have my Regents Scholar family for friendship, love, and nurturing support. I love to learn about new things (especially organic chemistry lab techniques and fascinating things about cyclohexane) but my passions lie in food, languages, and sleep. Food is great. I love eating. You cook. I eat. (just kidding) I love languages. Currently I am learning good old Hindi and Chinese village dialects. Oh yeah! Sleep: I love you, Sleep!

I graduated from UC Davis in 1992 and then went on for my Master's at the University of Vermont. I worked for a while in Buffalo, NY and Chester, PA prior to coming back to UC Davis as an Assistant Director in Student Housing. I look forward to getting to know all of you and having a successful Regent's Scholar Society here at Davis.
